Romantic Kentucky Wedding at Two Historic Venues: Kentucky Castle & Castle & Key Distillery

This past Saturday, October 12th, I had the pleasure of photographing Sheldon and Jessica Keel’s wedding, and it was nothing short of magical. Though they live in Florida, they chose to bring their closest family and friends to Kentucky for their big day—and it’s easy to see why. The stunning countryside, bourbon, and horse racing culture all played a role in making this celebration uniquely theirs.

Getting Ready at the Kentucky Castle

The day started at the iconic Kentucky Castle, where Jessica and her bridal party got ready in one of the castle’s beautiful suites. There’s just something about the light at this venue—it adds such a dreamy, timeless feel to every moment. As Jessica’s friends helped her into her gown and shared some laughs, I captured candid moments that felt so effortless and natural. The atmosphere was relaxed, full of excitement, and it set the perfect tone for the rest of the day.

A Ceremony & Reception at Castle & Key Distillery

After getting ready, we made our way to the historic Castle & Key Distillery for the ceremony and reception. The venue has this incredible charm that blends the best of Kentucky—bourbon, history, and stunning scenery. Sheldon and Jessica exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony surrounded by the beauty of the distillery grounds. You could just feel how meaningful the moment was for them, with their closest loved ones right by their side.

Once the “I do’s” were said, guests were treated to a cocktail hour with a perfect touch of Kentucky flair—bourbon, of course! The reception that followed was a mix of heartfelt toasts, laughter, and so many personal touches that reflected who Sheldon and Jessica are as a couple. They created a warm, inviting atmosphere that truly celebrated their love story.

Timeless Elegance Meets Kentucky Charm

Sheldon and Jessica’s wedding was the perfect mix of classic and intimate. From the soft, elegant florals to Jessica’s timeless gown, every detail came together beautifully. It was clear they wanted their day to feel personal and relaxed while embracing the natural beauty and unique character of Kentucky.

I’m so grateful to have been part of their special day, capturing moments that they’ll look back on for years to come. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Keel—I couldn’t be happier for you both!
